So you’ll have search your state guideline’s.

Scalping tickets for sporting events has spread from stadium parking lots to cyberspace.

I did find written confirmation that, you cannot charge a price more than 20% above, what the original ticket cost = face value.

Scalping is illegal in New Jersey but you can resell your ticket outside the venue. You would have to sell it for the face value and no more than a 20% markup or $3 whichever is greater. That is the ticket resale law in New Jersey and if you comply you’ll have no problem.

Here is the actual section of the law that pertains to legal resale.–

"New Jersey State law is very specific about the prices that can be charged on the resale of tickets to New Jersey events. A price that exceeds $3 or 20 percent above the ticket’s face value, whichever is greater, clearly is in violation of the law."

So stay with within these guidelines and you’ll be fine.

You should be able to as long as you charge the ticket price or below the ticket price; what people get arrested for outside of venues is for "scalping" which is charging a higher price for the ticket than fair market value, which is illegal.

We went to a concert one hoping that someone would have an extra ticket to sell so a friend could attend at the last minute for a soldout concert and the person offered to sell it for $3 below the ticket price, but I went ahead and paid the ticket price.

From what I have heard, you ARE allowed to sell extra tickets but you can’t make a certain percentage more than what you bought them for (or something along those lines)…I think it goes according to what state you are in…umm..maybe you could try looking it up on the web as "ticket scalping"…hope this helps at least somewhat

You can sell it for the price on the ticket or less; it is only "scalping" if you sell it for more than the price printed.

That's like scalping. How about selling it online? You just post it on eBay (with covered seat numbers of course) and you should have no problem. Good luck.

if you sell it for more than retail value, it's called scalping! And you can be arrested.

It is ok to sell but not for a higher price than the value. You can sell it for what you paid(the price on the ticket) that is legal!

Yes, I believe you can as long as you sell it for the same price or less that you bought it for.
